VISIONARY VOICES
I was nominated by TikTok as an Industry Disruptor in their 2023 Asian and Pacific Islander Visionary Voices list. I was nominated alongside 14 other top API creators in celebration of API Heritage Month in May 2023. Other nominees across Creator, Industry Disruptor, and Small Business categories include musical artist H.E.R. (@herofficial), photographer David Suh (@davidsuh), pottery studio Grumpy Kid Studio (@grumpykidstudio), and more.
TIFF Future of Filmmaking
I was invited by TikTok and TIFF to be a guest judge for their #FutureOfFilmmaking AR effect challenge, where one lucky AR creator will win a trip to get the VIP treatment at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival. I produced a filmmaking AR effect (“Dolly Zoom”), and produced several launch videos (“Presenting the Future of Filmmaking”, “Promoting AR Effects with Videos”, "How I Made The Dolly Zoom”) announcing the challenge to the public, which you can watch below.
VidCon 2022
I was invited by TikTok to attend the VidCon 2022 conference (Anaheim, California, June 22-25, 2022) and to participate in TikTok’s official VidCon 2022 hackathon, where I won 1st place for my game effect submission “Eat Your Rainbow” and won an Apple Studio Display Monitor. My effect was featured in the official TikTok creator lounge, and I was interviewed by TikTok’s social team for social features.

Augmented World Expo
AWE 2022
I was invited by TikTok to speak on a panel at the Augmented World Expo (AWE) 2022 conference in Santa Clara, California, on the topic of “Building the Next Generation of AR Creators with Effect House.” The panel featured videos of a range of my TikTok AR filters, including Chocolate, Wes Anderson Film, Charlie Puth Song, and Xray Sunglasses.
SIGGRAPH 2019
As a technical product manager at Felix & Paul Studios, I pitched, produced, and presented on multi-speaker 90-minute Production Session at SIGGRAPH 2019 in Los Angeles, California, on the topic of “Space Explorers: Life in Orbit” – Filming VR In Microgravity. We dove into the behind-the-scenes on what it takes from a technical and process perspective to film a VR documentary in space. I oversaw all remote International Space Station film shoots over a multi-year VR documentary production in collaboration with NASA, NanoRacks, TIME, CSA, ESA, and more.

In 100 days, I painted 100 4”x4” of my favorite album covers with acrylic paint. I compiled a Spotify playlist 100 Albums With Laura of all of the albums painted, and posted them to my art Instagram account @lauragouillon.art with the hashtag #100albumswithlaura. This was featured by eFluent, a digital literacy organization, in a video.
